Innis Woods Gardens in Westerville is a definite favorite for any occasion in which you need pictures. It’s also definitely a great place for a stroll through nature. And if you have kids, make sure you stop and look into the lake under the bridges and see how many turtles or fish you can spy… And snakes!
I have heard that they have a new law where you can’t run through the park because you’ll be disturbing the wild life. And yes, security will chase you down. The things we do for nature…
Located about an hour and a half south west of Columbus and is near Dayton, Yellow Springs Ohio is the cutest little town!
Entering Yellow Springs, Ohio
It is, of course, very small, and is a classic liberal college town as it is the home of Antioch College. There is two main streets Xenia and Daytona, where most of the shops are located on. The shops have a very eclectic feel to them – lots of unique trinkets, pottery, books, art exhibits, music, mystical and magical things, etc. There’s also a grocery store (incase you wear your new shoes for the first time and need bandaids *ehem*), and a lot of eateries!
Me, of course
I stopped and got some coffee at the Spirited Goat Coffee House – very cute. And for dinner, (I wish I remembered the name of the place) it was located right across from the Spirited Goat and had a Spanish or Cuban (?I really wish I remembered what it was called) twist to the menu. I got these potatoes filled with meat and seasoning – pretty delicious!
Waterfall just outside of Yellow Springs
As if the town isn’t cute enough, there’s some nature centers around the town. Make sure you explore you’ll love what you find 🙂
